How to File a State Farm Hail Damage Claim in Texas

    By Max Exteriors PDR · March 22, 2026 · 6 min read

Step 1 — File via the app or 1-800-SF-CLAIM

Both work. The Pocket Agent app is faster and creates a claim number instantly. You'll need policy number, date of loss, and a brief description ("hail damage to vehicle, multiple panels").

    Step 2 — Photo or in-person inspection

For minor damage, State Farm may request photos via app. For moderate-to-severe hail, they'll schedule a field adjuster or direct you to a Select Service shop.

Step 3 — Choose your repair shop (any licensed shop)

You're not required to use a Select Service shop. Texas law guarantees your right to choose. Max Exteriors PDR works with all State Farm claims and meets adjusters on-site for hail.

Step 4 — Approval and repair

State Farm typically approves PDR estimates within 24–72 hours. Your deductible is owed to the shop at completion. Many Dallas PDR shops offer deductible assistance.

Step 5 — Supplements (if needed)

Hidden damage discovered during disassembly gets supplemented. State Farm pays supplements directly to the shop. You don't pay more.

    Will my rate go up?

Texas hail is a comprehensive (not at-fault) claim. State Farm cannot single-handedly raise your premium for a comp claim, though statewide rate adjustments after major storms do happen.
